Another Year, Another Round of Putting Up Freezer Corn

As crazy as the end of school year is, it was made exponentially crazier this year by a solo trip out of town, a classroom teacher retiring, an end of the year slideshow,  and sweet corn being ready all at the same time!

But, hoozah, we made it all work!  Team work makes the dream work, right?!

Bye Bye, Burski

Olivia's teacher this year was retiring after over twenty years of teaching, and we did our best to make this last year a great one for her.  Throughout the school year, we helped in the classroom as much as we could and brought in special treats randomly. {I'm also showing off a couple Teacher Appreciation gifts we gave out to both girls' teachers...including a sweet book made by Olivia.}

For her end of the year party, we decided to have the kids create a special quilt for her.  We sent home fabric markers and a quilt square with instructions for the kids to draw a picture of themselves and put their name on it.  Sheri picked out black and white fabrics and had the squares pieced together.  The whole thing turned out so cute!

We ended up having a pizza party with cake and a slideshow {courtesy of me} and it was such a fun afternoon!

Olivia's Fun Run

These posts are ALL sorts of out of order, but I'm having to let my OCD go to get these done!

Liv had her school Fun Run to raise money for her school to buy new laptops and a charging station.  She hit up the whole family to sponsor her during her run and she collected enough for a power cord! (Ha!)  I think she ended up raising about $100.

I was so proud of her for running in the heat!  She was a lucky girl to have her Daddy there to run with her and her Mommy and sister there to cheer her on!

Mother's Day 2016

This year, my mom and I spent Mother's Day taking the girls to see Annie at ASU's Gammage Theatre.  I had been wanting to go, and it was the perfect way for the four of us to spend the afternoon!  Both girls LOVE the movies/soundtracks to Annie AND they were both dancing to Hard Knock Life for their dance recitals.  And, if that weren't enough, Olivia was even singing Tomorrow for her voice recital!

The play was incredible, and Liv especially was in awe the entire time.  Such a fantastic Mother's Day!

ALSO--- The night before Mother's Day, I laid out a note for the girls with materials for them to make me a card...sometimes family members need hints!  :)
