Fluff + Lace + Ribbons + Frills

Today was our Fluff, Lace, Ribbons & Frills class.  It is such a cute class.  Miss Kathy reads a girlie little story and then we do a craft or two that goes along with it.  Today, she read Mattie's Hats Won't Wear That and then the girls decorated little paper hats that she had already shaped.  I love being able to do arts and crafts somewhere else and not making a big mess at home.  {Didn't I just say something similar to that yesterday?}

I've been searching the new class schedule and trying to plan out some classes for our summer.  There are so many different classes offered - art, music, dance, sports, swim, gymnastics - and I know there are so many that she will love.  My mom is going to do some classes with her and David will too, so there is a lot to juggle.  And, it's important we write down the schedules correctly so we don't have another mishap like tonight.  We thought we had a swim class, but when we got to the pool, it was locked up.  Ooops.  Good thing there was a playground nearby.

Wookie Wookie

Well, if it isn't another photo dump/week recap post.  Just call me Little Miss Originality.  Sorry, folks, but it is 10:00 and I'm a tired Mama.  I found myself telling David that I wanted to nap this weekend, and while he took THREE, I took none.  Not that I'm bitter or anything - just tired.

So...here.we.go.

+  As promised, a few pictures from the Children's Museum.  A week ago Friday we were going to go to the Children's Museum, but changed it to the zoo at the last minute.  Bless her soul, she had her little heart set on doing the shopping carts there and asked all weekend long to go.  Poppy graciously went with us last Tuesday and even crawled through the giant "tree house" structure that you couldn't pay me to go in.  Especially considering there were a gazillion field trip kids pushing their way through.  Thank you, Poppy.

+  We've been playing a lot of princess/dress up lately.  Olivia does the cutest thing where she curtseys for like A MINUTE.  Anyway, our old neighbor, Leslie, got Olivia this dress that she found on clearance at Target after the holidays and Olivia deemed it perfect for a princess dress.  So nice of Daddy to take a break from work to play the king.

+  On Friday, we met up with Liz & Company at a little place called Toy Town.  Toy Town has tons of toys and playhouses for kids to play in.  So nice to make a mess somewhere and not have to clean it up!

+  We met Liz for storytime at the library on Wednesday and checked out two culture passes to the Arizona Science Center.  Our library does this awesome program where you can check out a pass for two people to go to a specific museum for free.  So, on Saturday, we decided to use our passes.  The museum was full of really cool exhibits and while David probably enjoyed it the most, there were tons of fun things for Olivia too.

Loved this - right as you walked in, there was a giant telescope {with a camera on the lens} and then hanging from the ceiling was another telescope that showed whatever was in front of the camera.  So cute seeing my big girl's eye on the big screen.

+  After the museum, we walked through downtown Phoenix and found a cute little restaurant to have a quick bite outside before heading home.

+  We rushed home because we were going to a little surprise going away party for my aunt and uncle. They only live here during the winter months and are heading back to Ohio this week.  We are really going to miss seeing them all the time.

+  And, finally, today was full of lots of house cleaning {on my part} and napping {on David's part}.  We were finally able to cash in on another one of our 12 pre-paid dates and got our couple's pedicures! David had a little difficulty handling the buffing, but enjoyed it nonetheless.  Can't wait for our next one!

+  When we got home, our girls were happy little campers playing with Nana and Poppy.  Olivia wanted to dress up again and play princess.  She asked to be Princess Kate and so I pulled out my wedding veil for her to try on.  I'm so glad I snapped this picture, because it was a moment I hope I never forget.

She asked if Poppy would marry her and he asked how to do that.  She said, I hold the flowers, we hold hands and walk out the door and the people clap for us.  So that's what we did.  Be still my heart.

+ LawdHaveMercy.  An hour later and I'm all caught up.  Better go wake this big guy up.

He falls asleep 5 out of 7 nights when he puts Olivia to bed.

Badda Bing Badda Boom

You guys, we have been busy little boogers since we got back from {oh yeah, I'm going to mention it a couple more times} Disneyland!  My never-clean house can attest for that one.  You'd think that since we are rarely home the house would always stay clean.  But, I think it has to get clean first before it can stay that way.  When we rush out in the mornings, we don't always have time to get the house all cleaned up before we go. And honestly, by the time we have put the girls to bed, neither of us really feel like cleaning.  {And, my favorite excuse to myself, I don't want to make a lot of noise and wake the baby!}  I'm thankful that a lot of the times, David helps out with dishes and putting things away.  Thank you, husband!

So, anyway, I've got lots of catching up to do and you know that means lots of pictures too.  So, here goes one of my favorite catch-up posts.

+  Last Thursday, we had a little outdoor painting party with celery hearts and bell pepper tops.

+  On Friday, we met up with my friend Liz and her two kiddos at the Phoenix Zoo.  Highlights of the trip were the carousel rides {on the elephant, duh} and seeing the elephants.  Oh, and buying a stuffed elephant on the way out.  See a theme here?  Any guesses as to what Olivia's favorite animal is?

+  We got home late from the zoo {ie, too late for Olivia to take a nap} and so it was essential to get out of the house during the witching hour.  The evenings here have been gorgeous, so we decided to try Sydney out in the Chariot with Olivia {even though I'm pretty sure they are supposed to be a year old before biking with them,  we figured a leisurely ride to the playground would be okay }.  We had a blast and Sydney loved being in the trailer!  {Forgive me for the zillion pictures of the evening, but we were having fun!}

This is going to be so much fun.  And, I LOVE the flat terrain.

+  On Saturday, we went to a fun pirate birthday party for Olivia's little friend, Michael.  Marsha had tons of food set out for the kiddos and Olivia spied some cereal in her pantry and insisted on eating that for dinner.  Oh that girl.

+ And, finally, on Sunday we met up with Liz again at Desert Breeze for a little splash pad/playground/carousel/train ride action.

We entertained ourselves with cell phone self-portraits during the extra 20 minutes it took us to get there due to passing the exit and not realizing it until 10 miles later when we were almost in Scottsdale.  Oops.

+  Lord, that catches me up through the weekend.  I know we've done stuff this week, but for the life of me the only thing I can think of is the Children's Museum on Tuesday with Poppy {pictures to come}, lots of swimming, and Storytime today at the library.  It's late and my mommy brain is ready for bed.  So, to be continued...

Oh, and Doug, I am still waiting on my birthday present.
