Thursdays With Poppy

When Olivia was in Pre-K, my dad would pick her up every Thursday and take her out for ice cream. Now that Sydney is in Pre-K, it is her turn for the ice cream dates with Poppy!

Poppy was in Hawaii last week, so I HAPPILY took over this duty! ;)

Summer Bucket List: Arizona Science Center for Father's Day

The girls and I wanted to do something special for David {and for my dad} this year for Father's Day, so we decided to make David a special bowl and Poppy a special mug from As You Wish.  Sweet Sydney also gave David a present she had made him in school!

Knowing that David would want to do something together as a family to celebrate Father's Day, we took him to the Arizona Science Center, where he TRULY had a blast!

We girls sure are lucky to have such amazing fathers in our lives!  Love you both!

Water Balloon Fight!

I'm not sure how this didn't make it onto our Summer Bucket List, but it definitely made it into our summer fun!  I bought some of those water balloons that are super easy to fill and one afternoon when Mom and Dad came over, we filled the balloons and carted them down to the local green space.  The girls had fun soaking Poppy and me with the water balloons!  {And they did a great job picking up all of the popped balloons afterwards!} Thanks to Nana for taking the pictures!

On a Mission to the Mission {San Juan Capistrano}

The day after Disneyland, we headed down to check out San Juan Capistrano...it was HIGH on my brother's to-do list!  He loves the missions in California.  It was a gorgeous day with some gorgeous sights to see!

Despite the fact that my brother loves to eat out, we walked down to the Fun Zone and picked up a couple of pizzas for dinner.  We had a perfect place to eat in!  And, bonus, Liv lost her tooth after dinner!  She was getting a hug from Nana and the next thing she knew, her tooth was out!  Easiest one thus far!

Celebration of Poppy and Celebration of Learning

It just so happened that Poppy's birthday lined up with an open house at Olivia's school called Celebration of Learning.  Olivia really wanted her Poppy there with her, and being the wonderful Poppy he is, he spent his birthday with a school full of kiddos!  {Fortunately for him, we took him to dinner the night before and treated him to Not Yo Mama's Banana Pudding!}

One of the dad's in Olivia's class made these AMAZING displays for their Art Masterpiece work!  They looked like something out of a real art gallery!

These girls are seriously the luckiest!  They have the greatest Poppy and it is so obvious that these girls are his world!

Happy Birthday, Poppy!

Grandparents' Day

Shortly after we came home from the Gorge, and the same day we had another Dave Matthews Band concert, we celebrated the greatest Nana and Poppy our girls could have with a lovely brunch at Cracker Barrel!  

These girls really are the luckiest!  As are David and I -- they are such a huge help to us almost on a daily basis watching, shuttling, or just loving on our girls!  Thanks so much for all you do!  We love you!

Also - Sydney had a little Grandparents' Day celebration at her preschool.  She sang her little heart out and was so excited to have her Nana and Poppy there!
