Thanksgiving Weekend 2015

I can't believe that tomorrow is December 1st!  Holy smokes!  I figure I better post about Thanksgiving before Christmas rolls in.  {But, didn't I just post about Halloween?  Probably!}

Both girls had special lunches at their respective schools at the same time.  Oh how I wish I could be in two places at once, but since I couldn't, it was nice to have other moms send me pictures of what I was missing out on.  I chose to go to Sydney's Thanksgiving lunch and it was so cute.  She loved her little turkey outfit and did the craziest turkey dance for all of her classmates.  Liv was having a healthy luncheon, and I think her favorite was the cookie! :)

➹ She lost her tooth the night before! ➹

I took the girls to the playground after school to burn off some energy....and some calories for what was to come over the next couple of days. :)

For the second Thanksgiving in a row, we decorated gingerbread houses with Sheri and Riley.  It's such a fun tradition and we were so amazed at how much more time they spent decorating this year than last year!  {Wouldn't it be nice to show the finished product?  Whoops!}

We spent Thanksgiving evening with our cousins, and ohmyword, did the girls have so much fun with their cousin Ziggy.  I wish he lived closer because the girls just loved him.

On Friday, Uncle Rhino took the girls to see the Peanuts movie again so I could get some packing done.

My mom promised Liv that if she lost her tooth before Thanksgiving, she would take her to the mall {35 minutes away} that has the carousel.   I decided to take a break from packing and we made it a little girls outing.

The girls got their picture taken with Santa, but I'm going to wait until December to post that! :)

And, to wrap up our Thanksgiving weekend, we took Liv's friend, Nathan, to see The Good Dinosaur. Apparently, they had planned on going together and she kept telling everyone that she was going with him, so I sort of had to make it happen!  They were so cute together, and the movie was adorable and sweet and heart-wrenching.  At one point, Sydney started crying and said, "He misses his family.  This movie is so sad!"

Aannnnndddd, 25 pictures later, you are caught up on our Thanksgiving weekend!  Hope yours was just as fun!

It's a Preschool Christmas, Y'all!

Olivia had her little Christmas party at school on Thursday.  {It was more of a parent/child activity than a party which meant I didn't have to do anything as Room Mom besides show up and bring in supplies for my child. Hashtag thankyoujesus}

David and I both went and it was pretty cute watching her and helping her decorate her little milk carton with graham crackers and candies.

I'm not sure why most of the pictures turned out blurry, but as Olivia told me just last night, It is what it is.

And, here's to two weeks of not having to get up early and get dressed for school!!

Another Elf on the Shelf Breakfast

As if our lives weren't busy enough, we had to go and add another elf to our family.  I sometimes get so worried about everything being fair and equal with our girls and adding another elf is just the result of that worry...  I didn't want the girls fighting over who was going to get to take Bunky with them and I wanted them each to have one that we used in our home, so we got another one to use.  I'm crazy, I know.  You don't need to call me out on that.  And, don't even get me started on the clothes that I'm saving for my future granddaughters.

Anyway, our elves don't just show up to our house without some sort of grand welcoming, so we had another Elf on the Shelf breakfast for everyone.  {You can see last year's breakfast here and our very first Elf on the Shelf breakfast here.}  The girls were surprised when they woke up and Olivia was really excited to meet our new elf...especially since she is a girl!  And she wears a skirt!  She pretty much started calling her Sparkle from the get-go, but later added Snowflake to it.  It's all sorts of backwards, but our new elf's name is Snowflake Sparkle.  {And, it's so cute hearing Sydney pronounce it!}

Without further ado....here are some pictures from our breakfast!

➹ We haven't finished writing our letters to Santa yet...you know, just a tad behind over here. ➹

➹ She loved these donuts.  Tastykakes for the win!

➹ She loved them too! ➹

➹ I'm getting better at my reindeer donuts! ➹

My dad had to volunteer that morning, so he missed our breakfast, but my mom came over and brought the girls a few presents.  {She has a really hard time saving gifts, but to be fair, these needed to be opened so they could enjoy them before Christmas.}  She brought the girls two new ornaments and a new Christmas book each.  They loved them and they look super cute hanging on our tree.

➹ Lucky girls to have such a wonderful Nana. ➹

After the breakfast, we decorated a gingerbread house with the girls.  My mom already had the house put together which made it much easier.  Sydney was over it after the first few pieces of candy, but Olivia did a good job helping out.  {You can see our decorating from last year here. Also, if you click that link, you'll see Olivia in a cute brown & pink dress.  Sydney just wore that dress a few night's ago. How does that happen?!}

Our {Gingerbread} House is a Very, Very Fine House

...with a snowman and gingerbread boy in the yard....

We made our gingerbread house today with Nana.  We think Olivia spent a little bit longer working on it this year than last, but I'm pretty sure she ate just as much of the candy as she did last year.  {Which was a lot!}

OLIVIA!  Keep Your Hands Off of Those MARSHMALLOWS!

Thanks, Nana, for letting us make a big mess at your house.  But, next year, if it's 75 degrees out like it was today, let's do it outside!

{See pictures of our gingerbread house from last year here.}
