Eight Weeks In

It is SO hard to believe that we are EIGHT weeks into the school year!  It's definitely hard going back to school in July, but I LOVE having 2 1/2 weeks off come October!

Here are a few pictures from the girls' first few weeks of school!

➹ Lunch buddies! ➹

➹ Red week was a favorite of mine!  #gohoosiers ➹

➹ Love these two sweet friends!!! ➹

And, I just love this picture.... Everyone in Olivia's class has a job, and they all get paid for their jobs.   The classroom has a little store where they can buy candy or little toys.  For the most part, Olivia saves her money, and when she does spend it, she spends it on coupons for things like sitting in the comfy chair or reading to her kindergarten teacher's class.  :)

Sydney's First Day of Pre-K

Right after we dropped Liv off at school for her first day of second grade, we headed over to Sydney's school for her Meet the Teacher day.  Her first official day of school was the very next day.  Sydney is lucky to have Mrs. Lisa, who was Olivia's Pre-K teacher as well.  She is a really sweet teacher who works very hard to teach these little 4 and 5 year olds some independence.  Sydney is doing awesome in the class and I'm so proud of how hard she works at school!

➹ Waiting to go in! ➹

And, some comparisons....that just make me want to bawl my eyes out!

LOVE my sweet Sydney girl!

Sydney's Going to Pre-K!!!

I took a little girls trip to Cincinnati with my college roommate, Tara, to go see Dave Matthews Band!  We had a great time, but I guess I should have checked Sydney's school calendar before I left because I ended up missing her little promotion ceremony.  They sing the cutest song in it and I am lucky I got to hear her practice it so many times before I left.  The girls were in the best of hands with David and my parents, and I even let Olivia miss a couple hours of school so that she could be in the audience to watch her little sister.  Here are some cute pictures from before the ceremony!

Clearly it was bright outside!

I think David has more pictures, so hopefully I can remember to add them here later!

I took Sydney out for breakfast with her friend, Hailey, for an end of the year hooray!  These two girls started out in the same preschool class last year and then took gymnastics classes together this year.  Hailey will go on to kindergarten this year and we will miss her so much!

I am so excited for my sweet girl to go to Pre-K.  I know she is going to learn so much.  She will be going 4 mornings a week, and I'm excited to plan some really fun Mommy and Me dates for our Fridays together before I have to send her off to kindergarten!  Just love her to pieces!

Sydney's Preschool Christmas Performance

Sydney's Christmas performance for her preschool was a few days after we moved into the new house.  She was super excited to sing, and we couldn't wait to hear her sing, "Round your wergent" which she had been singing non-stop at home.  :)  She did great and got blessed with a visit from Santa afterwards.  Love my big girls.

That Santa sure was cracking my girls up!

Monster Mashin'

It has been a CUH-RAZY few weeks.  Between Halloween festivities, an awesome visit from Poppa Peter, and heyyyyyaaaaaaaa buying a house {and basically gutting it, but that's a whole different story}, I haven't had the time or energy to blog.  So, here we are, two weeks after Halloween and I'm posting about it.  You get what you get, and you don't throw a fit.  ;)

Somehow, yet again, I got roped into helping plan the class parties.  OY.  Thank goodness I have two other moms to work with.  We came up with five fun stations for the first graders to do - carnival games, monster photo booth, monster craft, and two different snack stations {because what kid doesn't love to eat tasty snacks?!}

Olivia's first grade teacher was worried that some kids might finish at the stations early, so we made the class some Monster Books that they could do fun activities in.  We also made each of the kiddos glow in the dark trick-or-treat bags.  I saw the bags on someone's IG and had my brother get one of his coworkers in Atlanta to find 25 of them from the Publix grocery stores and send them to me.  Am I spoiled rotten?  ummm, yeah.  Sheri came up with the idea of making punch and putting dry ice in it.  Who's spoiled now?  Wow.  These kids are so lucky.

➹ I spent two hours one night making all of those cups.  ➹

➹ Ok, how perfect is that monster dress on Olivia?! ➹

Sydney's party was awesome!  I had NOTHING to do with it, and only volunteered in her class that day.  Lesson learned.  :)  She got to wear her costume to school and they did a little parade around the classrooms to get their candy.   Their party was at the end of class and she changed her clothes at the first opportunity!  Since Poppa Peter was visiting, he got to see Sydney in full party mode!  What a fun morning she had!
