Fun Fridays with Mommy

Now that Sydney goes to school Monday - Thursday, we have Fridays just for us.  Knowing how fast these days and years go, I am trying to take advantage of these days of just the two of us and do something special together.  So far, we have gone to the IDEA Museum, the Lego Discovery Center with Ty, a shopping and pedicure date with Mommy and Daddy, and JumpStreet trampoline park with Ty and Jake.  We've also signed up for a gymnastics class every Friday morning and she absolutely LOVES it!

Twenty Years of Dave

Twenty years ago, I went to my first Dave Matthews Band concert at Deer Creek in Noblesville.  I think that show sparked my love for seeing that band live, because in that 20 years, I've been to 70 shows!  (I have an app where I log in each of my shows that I've been to and it keeps track of all the songs I've heard, special guests, venues, etc!  It's awesome!)

A few of my stats:  70 shows, 174 different songs, 31 tours, 11 different states, and while I'm sure most people will think I've spent a ridiculous amount of time and money on shows, to me it is priceless!

This year, I knew I had to get back to Deer Creek to celebrate my 20th anniversary!  I'm so glad Brad and Clark could join us for a hot and humid weekend in Indiana.

It was a quick trip back to Indiana, but it was so nice to be able to see a few of my favorite people and eat at a few of my favorite places!

And, I realized that I never blogged about going back to Indiana a few months earlier for a girls weekend with my friend, Tara!  She was my first real Dave touring buddy and it was so nice to be able to see a show with her again.  We always said we would be old and gray and still stalkin' Dave on tour, and we have kept our word! :)

And, some oldies....

Summer Bucket List: The Scottsdale Civic Center Library

Another item on our Summer Bucket List was to visit the Civic Center Library in Scottsdale.  Olivia and I had a chance to briefly walk through it when we were taking a break from her dance rehearsal, but we didn't get to spend nearly enough time there.  I took home a flyer with their activities listed and decided to come back on the day they were doing a Paw Patrol activity.  What I didn't realize was that the activity was a coloring page and watching a couple episodes in a back room.

While that was a bust, we did have fun spending the rest of the morning there reading books and exploring the children's areas.

➹ She did this all on her own! ➹

And, we topped off the afternoon with a trip to the infamous Sugar Bowl!

Liv was just a baby last time we were there.  See it here

Gorgeous For the Gorge in 2015

Apparently I have a hard time saying no to Brad.  {I clearly have a hard time blogging too.}  After two wonderful Labor Day weekends at the Gorge seeing Dave Matthews and his Band, David and I decided that this year we would take a Gorge break.  But, poor, poor Brad's mom, her name is Arlene too, did you know that?  I feel so bad for her, really I do.  Because she was clearly never able to tell Brad NO without him throwing a fit.  Because that's exactly what he did when we told him no.  No Gorge this year.  He bugged, he pestered, he downright HARASSED, and then he did exactly what David would want him to do.  He put together a business proposal.  And, it worked.  He pretty much made it impossible to say no to him.  It was almost like we couldn't afford not to go.  So, we did.  And, it was gorgeous as always.

We found out that Michael and his girlfriend were going to be there on Sunday, so we were able to meet up with them for a little bit before the show.  Still so strange seeing this boy so grown up!

I said over and over that we aren't going next year, but somehow the guys were researching RVs to rent for next year.  My poor parents.... I think one Arlene needs to have a convo with the other Arlene! ;)
