Summer Bucket List: Tie Dye on the 4th of July

We had a pretty mellow 4th of July, and let me tell you, that was quite alright with me!

We picked up a few things at WalMart {of all places} and had fun letting the girls wander through the toy aisle.  Liv found herself a new bike {that we didn't purchase} and the entire Michelson crew {sans Mama} put on their own 4th of July parade right there in the bike section.

 We invited our friends over for a little, relaxed swim party and it was just perfect!  The girls swam and played and we had cheeseburgers, hotdogs and chips and veggies {and Rice Crispy treats that Sydney helped me make} and it was just so nice to be with friends.  Once it got dark, we gave the girls some glow sticks and they did some night swimming!  It was really cool to see!

I had promised Olivia ice cream in these waffle bowls and so around 9:00, I fixed one for each of the girls and we went out and lit some fireworks and sparklers, and I think it was 10:30 before the big girls fell asleep!

The next morning, we woke up with making Tie Dye shirts on our agenda, so naturally we had to make some Tie Dye waffles!  The whole experience was a mess, but we had fun and they turned out SO cute!

It was so hot and messy, I didn't really take any pictures of the process, but we ended up making shirts for Riley and Reese, Olivia and Sydney, and even a doll shirt for Olivia's doll, Julie.  I also made some adorable leggings!

Here are a couple pictures of the girls modeling the shirts and pants!

Can't wait to do it again!  {Come winter time!}
