Another Summer in SLO, Part 22 {Santa Barbara County Fair}

Well, we are back home, snuggled up in our comfy beds, and I am really starting to feel like it is back to reality in a big way.  Olivia starts kindergarten one week from today!  It's time to kick up our organization in the house so we can tackle this school thing like pros -- which means, I need to finish up posting about our trip.

One of the reasons we stayed out in SLO as late in the summer {late for us since we are on a year round schedule} is so that we could attend the Santa Barbara County Fair.  It is seriously one of our favorite things to do there.  We love how kid-friendly it is, and after having so much fun last year with Jacob and Sarah, we knew we wanted to go again this year if we could.

Sarah and her girls wanted to come too, and we are so glad they did!  The boys still nap, so while they were snoozing away, the 4 blondes whooped it up at the fair grounds.  We watched a sea lion show and got familiar with lots of rides while we waited for them to make their way into the fair park.

➹ The girls, especially Olivia, were not fans of the way the barns smelled. ➹

I don't know why, but I always like walking around the barns and seeing the animals...even if they do stink.  No one else wanted to, but I needed to get Sydney in there to recreate a picture. Since I had put Sydney in the same shirt Olivia wore three years ago, I wanted to get a picture of her by the pigs too.  I couldn't remember exactly how she was posed, but I did my best from memory.  So, the first picture is Olivia and the second and third are Sydney.

➹ Ha.  That pig! ➹

We picked up William and Jacob by the barns and took them over to the kiddie rides.  I was so bummed that they didn't have the ferris wheel this year!  We rode almost all of these here {thanks to getting smart and getting wristbands} and then headed over to the carousel and the big slide.  I think David rode that giant slide at least 6 times -- he took all the little kids on it at least once and he was finally able to convince Olivia to ride it with him.  Jacob rode it at least as many times as David, if not more.  I think that may have been his favorite ride!

Sarah and her girls left after about 4 hours, but we stuck it out for awhile longer so Sarah and her boys could get some more ride time in.  And, well, we love the fair, so it wasn't like anyone had to twist our arm to make us stay!

➹ These two and their fair faces! ➹

We had so much fun at the fair -- I'm so glad we were able to do it again this year with even more friends.  And, if you didn't get enough fair pictures, you can click to see some from 2010, 2011 and 2013.

Those pictures say it all. Again Amanda you captured the fun times with the gang in glorious color. Even Jacob gave it a thumbs up!

When the girls see Momma with a camera in hand, they know exactly what to do. They have become good little posers.
