Another Summer in SLO, Part 7 {Ravine Waterpark}

When the girls and I made our SLO Summer Bucket list, we sent it off to two of our favorite Sarahs, excited to see what they would say.  They both wrote back with some things to add, one of which was the Ravine Waterpark.  Let me just say that swimming in public pools are not high on my list of things I enjoy doing, and that's not just because we have a fabulous private pool in our own backyard at home.  When Social Coordinator Sarah brought her calendar over to plan out our activities, I tried my best to get out of any and every public water activity there was {except the beach}.  But, try as I may, she still somehow convinced me to take the girls to the waterpark in Paso Robles.

One of the main reasons I agreed to go was because David was going to go too.  I knew he would get a kick out of all of the slides, the wave pool, and the lazy river.  We rented a little cabana the night before and laid everything out so we would have an easy morning the next day.  Well, sadly, David started getting a cold sore a couple days before, and wasn't really better by the next morning.  We didn't think it was a good idea for him to be out in the sun or risk getting bumped in the face.  So, he stayed home, and I was forced to put on my big girl panties swimsuit and be the fun mommy for once.

And, you know what?  It wasn't half bad.  The water was pretty chilly in the kiddie pool, but it only came up to mid-thigh at it's highest level.  Sydney kept her floatie on the whole time, and both girls did great at keeping close to me and not taking off.  We seriously had SO much fun with Kendall and Kate {and their mama}.  I'm so glad we rented the cabana too, because we felt like our stuff was safe while we swam.  And, thanks to a heads up from Sarah, and a little sneakiness on our part, we were able to bring in food for lunch for the girls.

I think the favorite part of the kiddie pool for my girls were all of the slides.  Olivia was scared to try the biggest one, but once she did, she didn't want to do any others!

➹ I love how Sydney is looking at Olivia in this picture! ➹

➹ I'm not sure why it is so hard for 4 kids to look at the camera and smile at the same time! ➹

➹ My sweet, fair-skinned baby.  I kept her covered the whole time she was in the water! ➹

➹ Naturally, after four hours of waterpark fun, the girls needed a little sugar boost. ➹

I'm seriously so thankful that Sarah convinced me to take the girls up to the pool.  We all had SO much fun.  I hope we can go back one more time with David...and maybe this time I can just sit in one of the chairs under the cabana!  {And, take pictures too...}
